Maker Skills and Attitude:

What did i learn?

I started this week in my familiar working environment (illustrator). After making a prototype on paper I started thinking about other kinds of materials. Eventually I started working with the UV printer on plexiglass. I learned to work with the UV printer and the computer and how I can make a template in the printer so that all pieces of plexiglass are in the same place. This was necessary because a UV printer does not really have a specific starting point to start printing. I solved this by first printing my design on paper and then pasting that paper into the printer at the place where my design was to be placed on the plexiglass. I was also able to refresh my Arduino knowledge. I found it instructive to test various conductive materials such as paint.

Collaborative Learning:

This week we didn't have to work very much together, but we had to make something more about someone. Still, you had to work together to come to a conclusion about what you were going to make about them. Neza comes from Slovenia. Her english is very good and she took a lot of time to help me search for words and that was very nice. I also liked her motivation and positive attitude.

Neza's Monopoly

This week I tried to get to know someone better through a game. I was linked to Neza this week. Neza has made a long journey to follow the minor makerslab. I mapped her route with the game monopoly. The reason why I chose monopoly is the place names and streets you pass to reach goals. Every new step in her life I have linked to a sound.
By means of arduino the sound is linked to the game board. The way to communicate between the board and adruino is via metal screws with eyelets. The puppet is a portrait of Neza made of iron wire. As soon as the wire touches the metal rings it interacts with arduino and plays a sound.

First prototype: Printed my illustrator design on paper.

Final: Printed my illustrator file on plexiglas with the UV printer. to connect Arduino with the monopoly board i used metal screws with eyelets.

Portrait Neza:

Make an interactive portrait which will talk about a classmate, that will represent a classmate. To achieve that, is necessary to include their characteristics, signature elements.
START OF THE GAME:
My Illustator design:

I have chosen a half board so that Neza can fill in the rest of her future herself with the rest of the board.
